London Concertante Presents: Two Candlelit Concerts At Leeds Minster
This spring and summer, London Concertante brings two candlelit concerts to Leeds Minster, offering audiences the chance to experience four distinct programmes across the season in one of Yorkshire’s most historic spaces.
Spanning orchestral re-imaginings and a brand new show, the Leeds series showcases London Concertante’s breadth of programming and commitment to creating immersive live music experiences beneath the Minster’s architecture, illuminated by the soft glow of candlelight.
The season opens on Friday 15th May 2026 with a brand new show, The Seven Sins of Tango by Candlelight. This new show brings the smouldering soundworld of Argentine tango vividly to life, unfolding across seven musical chapters – each inspired by one of the deadly sins. Enhancing the music, two champion tango dancers appear on stage at key moments, bringing selected pieces to life through expressive choreography that reflects the emotional intensity of the score.
Following this, London Concertante will return to Leeds on Friday 12th June 2026 with Radiohead Reimagined by Candlelight, an orchestral interpretation of music by one of Britain’s most influential bands. Drawing on material from across Radiohead’s catalogue, the concert transforms familiar songs through string textures and cinematic arrangements, offering a fresh perspective on modern classics within an acoustic setting.
