Local Performing Arts Business Named Finalist In National Awards

Pauline Quirke Academy of Performing Arts (PQA) York, Scarborough, Beverley, and Hull has been named a finalist in the Scaling Business of the Year category at The Class Business Awards 2026.

The Class Business Awards recognise businesses and individuals delivering outstanding experiences through classes, clubs and activities across the UK. This year, just 90 finalists were selected from entries across the country by a panel of judges with expertise across business, education, leadership and community impact.

PQA York, Scarborough, Beverley & Hull has been recognised for its growth and the impact of its academies across Yorkshire, combining sustained business growth with opportunities for young people to build confidence, develop new skills and explore their passion for the performing arts.

Being named a finalist places PQA York, Scarborough, Beverley & Hull among some of the UK's leading class-based businesses, recognising the work taking place across its academies to support young people and their development through performing arts.

PQA academies provide high-quality performing arts training for children and young people, alongside opportunities to develop confidence, communication and social skills in a safe and supportive environment. Students can explore a wide range of disciplines including acting, singing, dancing, comedy, story writing, television and filmmaking.

The winners of The Class Business Awards 2026 will be announced at the awards ceremony on Saturday 10 October 2026 at the National Conference Centre in Solihull.
