Earth Hour 2023

All around the world, millions of people, businesses, and landmarks set aside an hour to host events, switch off their lights, and make people aware for climate change action.

Could an hour change the world?

This year Earth Hour is at 8:30pm on Saturday 25 March 2023. Called Earth Hour, it is organised by conservation organisation WWF.

What is Earth Hour?

Earth Hour was founded by WWF in Sydney in 2007, and is designed to increase awareness about energy consumption and environmental issues including rising temperatures and destruction of habitats on a global scale. Now over a decade later the climate crisis is worse by the rapid loss of biodiversity and nature.

Millions of people will participate as homes, cities, hotels, universities and businesses turn off their lights at 8:30 pm local time for Earth Hour - a demonstration of commitment to fight climate change.

The WWF Earth Hour seeks to encourage people to actively pursue a more sustainable lifestyle to reduce their carbon footprint and energy consumption, so making a brighter future for all of us.

The goal of Earth Hour is to raise awareness of nature conservation, climate change solutions and how we can all work together to shape a better future for everyone.
