Duruflé And Mozart At Halifax Minster

Halifax Chamber Choir will be performing the Requiem by Maurice Durufle and the Coronation Mass by Mozart at Halifax Minster, Causeway, Halifax HX1 1QL on Saturday 15th November at 7.30pm.

Maurice Duruflé’s Requiem, Op. 9 (completed in 1947) is one of the most luminous and spiritual choral works of the 20th century — deeply rooted in Gregorian chant and Gregorian modality, yet clothed in rich, impressionistic harmony reminiscent of Fauré and Debussy.

Mozart’s Coronation Mass in C major, K. 317 is one of his most celebrated sacred works — radiant, festive, and filled with the melodic grace typical of his Viennese style.
