Cian Ducrot Tour

The queue for Nottingham's Rescue Rooms said it all. While Cian Ducrot is still relatively fresh in the charts following the success of his truly likeable TikTok presence, the audience turned out in their masses and waited in the rain to experience Ducrot in person. Having enjoyed a #2 charting collaboration with Ella Henderson (All For You) and with his latest single, I'll Be Waiting, climbing higher in the charts by the week, there is little doubt that his trajectory should see him jumping up venue size rather impressively ahead of his next tour. With that in mind, this tour is Ducrot's chance to show he has what it really takes for the big-time stage shows.

Before he takes to the stage, another TikTok sensation enjoys a moment in the spotlight. On her first ever tour, Sadie Jean is a surprisingly shy revelation. While she chatters nervously between songs explaining her lyrical content (centering on two bad relationships), when she sings it all comes together, and she shows that she is certainly mainstream radio ready.

The moment Ducrot enters the stage it is clear that he not only has the vocal capability to become a household name, but the personality too. Dressed in a T Shirt and trousers, he performs his opening song in a pair of shades, before launching into banter about his rock star credentials with the audience.

Working through his entire back catalogue, teasing some new material and even allowing time for a brief One Direction/Harry Styles homage, Ducrot's charm worked a wonder. While even he noted that his debut single, Aftertaste, was a little cringe, he has the certain je ne sais quoi to turn cheese into gold.

His loving audience cherished the intimacy the venue allowed. Perhaps realising that this would be the last time they would see him this close up and personal
