Swaledale Festival 27 May - 10 June 2023

Over the next fortnight 50+ music, arts and walking events will ripple across Swaledale, Wensleydale and Arkengarthdale.

Coming up in week one: a classical 'collective', rousing brass, top-notch puppetry, free astronomy, poetry walks, music inspired by climate change, a world-class cellist, meltingly beautiful jazz and a 23-stringed harped guitar...

Under 25s tickets are available to nearly all events for just £3!

On 26 May the Festival launched with the special opening of art exhibition Talk of the Land: Ancient Sound Waves at The Station in Richmond. Students at Risedale School in Catterick Garrison explored the stream of consciousness provoked by sounds and words from the Yorkshire Dales with artists Rachel Antill and Patrick Green. This exhibition is the stunning result!

The Prime Minister and MP for Richmond (Yorks), Rishi Sunak, attended to congratulate the young artists on their achievement.

The exhibition runs till 7 June - drop in and check it out for yourself.
