Silver Screen Weekly - What's Coming Up At The Cinema From Friday 14th February

Our film critic and media correspondent has been looking and trawling the new releases. Here's what you can see on the big screen this week.

From Friday 14th February

Heart Eyes (18)
Love is in the air, everywhere we look around but someone in particular has (Heart) eyes for all the couples out there in Josh Ruben’s acclaimed horror slasher rom/com. The film sees a killer with literal Heart Eyes butcher unsuspecting couples every Valentine’s Day and it looks like this year, Ally (Olivia Holt) and Jay (Mason Gooding) are his next target. Can they survive? Being called a genre blender as fun and fresh as it is brutal and gory, Heart Eyes is a horror treat that cuts into the Valentine’s season with glee!

Captain America: Brave New World (12a)

It's a brave new world for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As this new film sees Anthony Mackie's Sam Wilson (aka Falcon) still adapting to the mantle of Captain America, but the world is changing around him. As he is caught fighting unforeseen foes amidst a global plot starting with an international incident during a meeting with President Thaddeus Ross (Harrison Ford). Leaning into the paranoia thrills of previous acclaimed instalments and inspirations, this action-packed entry into the juggernaut franchise is said to lay the groundwork for Mackie's new take on the hero and features an absolutely exceptional MCU debut from living legend Harrison Ford!

Still Showing

Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy (15)
Renee Zellweger returns as Bridget Jones, as she navigates life as a widow and single mom with the help of her family, friends, and former lover, Daniel (Hugh Grant). Until she encounters a younger man and maybe - just maybe - a new chance at love. But has she still got it? This fourth entry into the romantic comedy series could not land at a better time of year, so come join us and Bridget for one last blast of love, laugh, live!

Dog Man (U)

A whole new (mixed) breed of hero arrives in cinemas in this spin-off of a story within Captain Underpants, Dog Man is from the crazy and inventive mind of author Dav Pilkey. The film follows a police officer and his faithful police dog who get injured in the line of duty, but become something greater(?), as a harebrained surgery fuses the two of them together -- and Dog Man is born. Featuring a feline supervillain, crazy visuals and inventive adventure and action, Dog Man is the first big family film of 2025 and you'd be bonkers to miss it. Starring the vocal talents of Pete Davidson, Lil Rel Howery, Isla Fisher, Poppy Liu, Stephen Root, Billy Boyd and Ricky Gervais!

Love Hurts (15)
From the producers of Nobody and Violent Night comes this fast paced and high energy action comedy, starring Oscar winner Ke Huy Quan (Everything Everywhere All At Once, Indiana Jones and The Temple Of Doom). Quan plays realtor Marvin, who may seem perfectly quiet and innocent but his past as a skilled hitman is about to come calling, when his criminal brother hunts him down, and his long rested skills may just need to be resurrected.
