Rhys Lewis - Things I Chose To Remember

Oxfordshire Rhys Lewis debuted back in 2016 with the single Waking Up Without You. At the time he was an unknown entity, and with Ed Sheeran's acoustic singer/songwriter fodder dominating the charts, it was inevitable that any artist of Rhys' ilk would be automatically compared to Norfolk's big musical export. However, over the course of a series of singles and EP releases, Rhys has gone on to show he has his own distinctive sound. Finally ready with a full album's worth of material to share, he has unveiled Things I Chose To Remember.



Now for any listeners of music on any streaming platform, there is a large possibility that you will have first been drawn to Rhys through any number of 'sad song' oriented playlists - for there is no denying that his music does fit well with this broader categorisation. However, there is much to his debut album than a series of sad songs.

Although it is impossible to deny that heart-wrenching tearjerker Lonely Place is the album's most tender and beautiful moment, Rhys also delivers the amazingly inspired pop ballad Good People.

Joining the aforementioned as the album's highlights is the Kubb-esque Be Your Man. This indie-pop uber-cool subtle bop is a must-listen.
