The volume of gigs facilitated by live music marketplace GigPig has soared 471% in the last 12 months, heralding a further boost to artist incomes and venue revenues.

Average monthly gigs organised by GigPig now stand at around 4,000 UK-wide, up from 700 in June 2023. The platform has also onboarded its 7,000th artist this month, highlighting GigPig’s ability to offer artists meaningful work gigging in pubs, bars and restaurants. More than 1500 venues are now using the platform to book gigs and grow their business with live music.

It is two years since Manchester-headquartered GigPig launched with a mission to create thousands of new gigging opportunities in towns and cities across the UK, helping artists to earn a good living and hospitality venues boost their revenues with live music. More than 41,000 gigs have been staged via GigPig since the platform launched.

The platform has now saved venues more than £3m in operational costs and boosted the artist market by more than £10m. And GigPigs’s first-of-a-kind artist app, launched in May, already has thousands of its artists registered to book gigs with ease.

It’s incredible to see our dream become a reality. We have increased the number of venues growing with live music significantly and this has helped create gigging opportunities for more than 7,000 artists.

We’re starting to see the impact this is having in towns and cities across the country, with live music increasingly part of local pubs and bars offerings, while hundreds of artists are signing up to GigPig every week to earn some extra money gigging.

Given ongoing challenges facing both venues and artists, our mission to help turn every venue into a stage is more important than ever. Kit Muir-Rogers, co-founder of GigPig

GigPig works with independent venues across 22 cities, as well as national chains including Albert Schloss, Arc Inspirations, Brewdog, Urban Pubs & Bars, NQ64, Adventure Bar Group, East Coast Concepts, Katie O’Brien’s, Liars Group, Antic, Laine and Stack.
