Lawrence Batley Theatre, Huddersfield Announces Summer In The Courtyard Line-Up

The West Yorkshire venue has announced the line-up for its annual outdoor festival of entertainment, Summer in the Courtyard.

The summer is an opportunity for Lawrence Batley Theatre to take the theatre outside, making the most of the beautiful courtyard space at the front of their building. This year Summer in the Courtyard is back bigger and better than ever with a fresh new line-up of live music, comedy, headline DJs and family fun on the theatre’s outdoor stage.

Couldn't make it to Glastonbury? Then head down to the theatre for Courtyard Live, Huddersfield's very own music festival that's entirely free. Get together with friends and family every Friday & Saturday night from Fri 27 June – Sat 26 July, grab a drink from the bar and enjoy free live music from a host of local bands and musicians on the outdoor stage. Live music starts from 7pm, no need to book.

Local theatre company Mikron will take to the outdoor stage on Tue 1 July with another uniquely British musical adventure. Their new show Operation Beach Hut is a tale of subterfuge, seagulls and salty air set at the Great British Seaside, perfect to enjoy outside in the summer sunshine.

Grab your mates, grab a drink and get ready to laugh your socks off as the theatre’s Courtyard Comedy Festival returns for its second year. From Fri 1 – Sat 2 August enjoy an alfresco weekend of stand-up as some of the UK's best comedians and freshest new comedy talent will perform on the outdoor stage. This year's headliners are Kiri Pritchard-McClean and Darren Harriott.

Dinky Disco, the best daytime family disco in town, is heading outdoors for a summer dance party of epic proportions on Fri 8 August! Back for a 3rd year Dinky Disco - Festival Style! will have live DJ sets, performances, interactive games, parachute play, face painting and bubbles. With DJs spinning everything from house and trance to garage and pop... but (as always) not a Baby Shark in sight, this is a fun morning in the sun for all ages.

Summer in the Courtyard will come to a close with an open-air headline DJ set from house music legend Graeme Park. A true club culture icon, Graeme has been at the heart of the dance music scene for over four decades with his unmistakable blend of house music, classic cuts, and underground gems. From The Haçienda to the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury Festival, Graeme Park's career has taken him to iconic clubs and festival stages around the world. Now, he brings his DJ set to Huddersfield for an evening packed with energy, rhythm and pure feel-good vibes.
