The Sherlocks
On the move...

Paul Stimpson, Features Writer

Unsigned, unfazed and unbelievable, Sheffield's The Sherlocks are on the move and you would be foolish not to join the party.

This four piece indie band are fresh from headlining the Leadmill - a 900 capacity venue. A stunning feat for an unsigned band.

Consisting of two pairs of brothers, the band are adored by the locals in Sheffield and are seen as the next big thing to not only come out of Yorkshire, but the whole of the UK.

Lyrically and vocally, there are comparisons with The Courteeners and of course, Sheffield's previous indie champions Arctic Monkeys and Milburn - but The Sherlocks exude confidence and tread the line of arrogance very closely...more than the aforementioned bands ever did.

Singles ''Live For The Moment'' and ''Escapade'' have launched The Sherlocks into the charts with the former song reaching the top 5 in the UK Alternative Music Charts in October last year.

Whilst constantly touring and playing a number of smaller festivals in the UK, their booking at one of the ''biggies'' excited the band and their loyal fan base - with whom they share the ambition of the Sherlocks reaching the top.

The band will play at Y Not festival on August 1.
Their very first Reading & Leeds festival appearance is on the Festival Republic Stage at 11:15am at Leeds on Friday and 12:00pm on Saturday at Reading.
